Submission Criteria

BEFORE YOU SUBMIT

Read the mission statement in full before submitting.

Manna will not consider work that is denigrative, subversive, disparaging, or complaint-driven in nature. Such negativity is too easy and detracts from artistic merit.

Universal Submission Criteria

• All work must be previously unpublished in print

• Simultaneous submissions are accepted — please notify us if your work is accepted elsewhere

• English only, or English translation

• Submissions are accepted during the reading period only — December 1 to March 31 for the June issue; June 1 to September 30 for the December issue

• Include a short statement about the work

• Standard manuscript format for all written work: 12pt, double spaced, Courier or Times New Roman, with the title of the work evident

• All visual work must be submitted as a high resolution greyscale scan or photograph of the physical work — 300dpi minimum

• Contributors will receive one complimentary copy of the issue in which their work appears

• Manna acquires first print rights only — all rights return to the contributor upon publication

• Accepted work may be used by Manna for promotional purposes — all other rights remain with the contributor

• We aim to respond to all submissions within 3 months of the close of the reading period
